An off-beat comedy based on the hit play of the same name, ELEPHANT SIGHS stars Tony-nominee John Cariani (Deliver Us From Evil, Showtime, Kissing Jessica Stein), Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner Edward Asner (Up, Elf, TV’s Lou Grant and The Mary Tyler Moore Show), Jack Kehler (Men in Black II, The Big Lebowski), David Wells (Basic Instinct, Starman, Beverly Hills Cop), Mark Fite (Fight Club, Godzilla, Independence Day). After moving to a small, rural town, uptight Joel Bixby (Cariani), is invited by a gregarious new acquaintance to join a group of townsmen who meet in a ramshackle room at the edge of town. Normally a loner, Joel finds himself enamored by boisterous, fast food connoisseur Leo Applegate (Asner) and reluctantly agrees to go. Unknowingly being groomed as the “replacement” for a beloved member who recently passed away, Joel meets the group’s other surviving members and gets swept up in their strange and varied lives. Gleeful Dink (Kehler), who deeply loves his bald wife, is also in touch with his feminine side; Perry (Wells), a former minister, is suffering a crisis of faith; and volatile Nick (Fite), who lost his job and family, is seeking a miracle. As the men grapple with their worries and unraveling lives, Joel finally learns their mysterious purpose in this quirky dramedy about the healing power of friendship.
