Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti's remarkable debut feature explores the crippling sociopolitical aspects of modern Cuba, while also up-ending clichés about the island nation. One Havana post office is more than just a place of bureaucratic rules and regulations to ensure public services. It is also the workplace of young Carla Perez, who dreams of joining her exiled parents in Miami. Carla enlivens her own drab existence by rewriting the very letters she is responsible for processing—and helping her companions find love. One day, she receives an unexpected notice for a Green Card interview. Now she must choose between a future of her own in Cuba or one planned by others in the United States. With a mesmerizing mix of black-and-white and color cinematography and joyous bursts of song, the film is as hilarious as it is heartbreaking. Called "Cuba's answer to Amelie" by The Miami Herald, NOTHING MORE (NADA+) is presented in Spanish with English subtitles. This film is an official selection of the prestigious, award-winning Global Lens Collection, presented by the Global Film Initiative.
